Length of Treatment
Treatment time varies depending on individual needs, but typically ranges from several months to 12 months.
The cosmetic braces are typically quicker as it usually corrects mostly the tooth alignment. It is not typically used to correct functions such as the midline shifts or deviated occlusion, where these would be suited with traditional braces.
Retention
Yes, a form of retainer is required for life. This is usually in the form of removable clear vacuum-formed splint which you wear at night for life. The retainer is to prevent the perfectly aligned teeth from relapsing to their original position.
